Automated Import Reference System (AIRS) release recommendation

December 12, 2018

In an effort to improve the clarity of content in the Automated Import Reference System (AIRS), the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has completed a review of commodities identified in the database which the CFIA does not regulate. These commodities will no longer be identified in AIRS with a recommendation of “No CFIA requirements.”  Instead, effective January 29th, 2019, the CFIA will re-align these commodities under the recommendation “Not Regulated by CFIA.”  This release recommendation provides a clear and consistent message on CFIA admissibility requirements.
