CBSA Message: Classification file updates

March 10, 2010

The following message is from CBSA (EDI10-018).

Members are advised that as of the time of sending this message the updates have not be made available on the CBSA website yet. Please keep checking the link throughout the afternoon.

Please be advised the Classification file updates as a result of TN-49 and TN-49-1 have now been posted on the CBSA website at the following address: http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/trade-commerce/tariff-tarif/menu-eng.html.

This file is the complete Classification file as of March 5, 2010 and is in the form of GA records called Classification File Updates (as of March 5, 2010).

We have also posted a single file containing ONLY the Classification file updates and expiries resultant from TN-49 and TN-49-1. These updates and expiries are contained in one file due to the effective date being prior to the date our system was updated therefore the expiries and updates were processed and downloaded the same evening in one file. This file is in the form of AA records. You would normally get these Automated Update records (AA’s) downloaded into your system however due to the size of the file it was not possible. You can also find this file called Classification File Updates and Expiries resultant from TN-49 (AA RECORDS) at the same site http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/trade-commerce/tariff-tarif/menu-eng.html.

The Classification file expiries (complete Classification file as of March 4, 2010) will be posted tomorrow, March 11, 2010.

Should you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact the Electronic Commerce Unit at 1-888-957-7224.
