CBSA Message: MRAs with the Customs Administrations of Israel and Australia

August 4, 2017

In July 2017, in Brussels Belgium, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) signed bilateral Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRA) with the Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) and the Israel Tax Authority (ITA) regarding our respective Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) programs; Partners in Protection (PIP) in Canada. For further information, consult the news releases regarding the MRA signings with the DIBP and the ITA.

With each signed MRA, the CBSA continues to expand the international network of recognized low-risk trusted traders. MRAs allow customs administrations to focus on high or unknown risk, thereby strengthening supply chain security and facilitating legitimate trade between partner countries.

In addition to Australia and Israel, the CBSA has MRAs with the customs administrations of the United States, Mexico, Japan, the Republic of Korea and Singapore.

For information on MRAs please visit the CBSA website: Partners in Protection, Mutual Recognition Arrangements.
