CBSA Message (TCC15-072) REMINDER - Must Read Message for Importers/Brokers – K84 is changing

The following message is as it was received from CBSA.

IMPORTANT: This message is a reminder that the K84 statements are being replaced by new statements as of January 25, 2016. To receive the new statements electronically (either directly from the CBSA or through a service provider/broker), you MUST complete an application form.  Please contact TCCU at [email protected] to get more information.

  • This message and application form are intended for organizations that wish to receive daily and monthly statement information via Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). 
  • If you are not interested in receiving this information electronically, please ignore this message. 
  • If you currently receive K84 messages electronically, or if you previously authorized delivery of your K84 to a third party, you still need to complete this application form as the documentation will be changing.  Please read the form instructions carefully to understand which sections you need to complete.

Further to message number TCC15-034 sent on March 26, 2015, we are pleased to announce that the application form “Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Application for Daily Notice (DN) and Statement of Account (SOA)”, used to register for Daily Notices (DNs) and Statements of Account (SOAs), is now available. Please find this form attached. 

  • If you have difficulty opening this form or have any questions about the registration process, please send an email to the Technical Commercial Client Unit (TCCU) generic mailbox at [email protected]. You will receive a response to your inquiry within 5 business days. 
  • Any questions pertaining to the DN and SOA process can be sent by email to the project team at [email protected].  You will receive a response to your inquiry within 5 business days.

Once the completed form has been received and approved, you will be sent:

  • A test package and the Electronic Commerce Client Requirements Document (ECCRD), which outlines technical information in addition to providing sample statements; and 
  • An Accounts Receivable Ledger (ARL) Reference Manual, which provides information for statement users, including over 40 example scenarios to assist financial users in understanding how different payment situations will be reflected in ARL.

The CBSA testing environment will be available to clients with approved application forms starting in September 2015.
