CBSA Message (TCC19-034) - UPDATE - New ECCRD Addendum document - Integrated Import Declaration

April 30, 2019

The CSCB had a conference call with CBSA to discuss the significant number of amendments to the ECCRD and are pleased to see that CBSA is reviewing the amendments.

As a result of the concerns raised by trade chain partners, the Canada Border Services Agency will be reviewing the coding changes that are included in the Single Window Electronic Commerce Client Requirements Document, Addendum 1.0 to v4 to develop a way forward that is practical and achieves our shared objectives.

Further information will be sent out once it is available.

Clients Affected: All importers and brokers using the IID

The CBSA would like to advise stakeholders that the changes identified within this Addendum range from minor corrections/additional instructions to PGA legislative and regulation rule changes. Please note that any item highlighted as a Rule Change or Code Change will be available in the Testing environment in May 2019.  Following a 5-month period for client testing , the changes identified in this addendum will be migrated into CBSA’s Production environment in October 2019.

The changes are described in the Addendum document available from the Technical Commercial Client Unit (TCCU).

Copies of the Addendum documents can be requested via email at the Technical Commercial Client Unit (TCCU) mailbox : [email protected]. Please indicate in the subject line “ECCRD: SWI/IID Addendum“.

Alternatively, the TCCU is pilot testing a new online tool for the distribution and download of ECCRDs called GCcollab. Clients who are already subscribed as GCcollab members may log on to the TCCU’s page, select “Files”, select “ECCRD” and download a copy of the Addendum from the folder for Chapter 23.

Clients who haven’t yet subscribed to GCcollab and who would like to participate in the pilot test may do so by sending a request to the TCCU mailbox : [email protected]. Please indicate “GCcollab” in the subject line. The TCCU will then send you an official GCcollab invitation to join the group.
