CBSA Service in Atlantic Region

November 16, 2010

At the request of the CSCB, the CBSA has confirmed that an after-hours EDI contingency plan, similar to that which now exists in the Prairie Region, has been implemented in the Atlantic Region. The CSCB would like to express their appreciation to the CBSA for responding to the needs of our members.

The following information has been provided by CBSA.

CBSA Halifax Stanfield International Airport (HSIA)

The CBSA Halifax Stanfield International Airport Operations after-hours EDI contact number is (902) 873-1330 for air shipments. This number can be contacted 24 hours a day to advise the CBSA that an RMD release request has been transmitted. In addition, this office is also responsible for after hours (including weekend) clearance of shipments arriving in Sydney, NS.

The CBSA is requesting the cooperation of the brokerage community to contact the CBSA Halifax Airport (902) 873-1330 when it is known in advance during regular business hours that there will be a time sensitive/emergency shipment arriving outside regular business hours. This will assist local CBSA management in ensuring that the processing of those EDI's is given priority.
