CFIA-AIRS Updates September 6th 2019
A) Chapter 05 was published to modify the import conditions for the following HS codes with the end uses “Livestock feed” and “Other end uses” originating from the United States. NO VERSION CHANGE.
B) Chapter 06 was published to:
i) change the release recommendation from “Refuse entry” to “Refer to CFIA-NISC” for the following HS codes with the end use “Propagation (growing or sowing)” and the miscellaneous code “Without soil, related matter or growing media” originating from the United States and destined to British Columbia.
This created a requirement version change for the following HS codes.
ii) streamline the requirements for the following HS codes with the end use “Propagation (growing or sowing)” and the miscellaneous code “Without soil, related matter or growing media” originating from the United States destined to Newfoundland and Labrador.
This created a requirement version change for the same HS codes destined to all provinces except British Columbia.
C) Chapter 23 was published to modify the import conditions for the following HS codes with the end uses “Livestock feed” and “Other end uses” originating from the United States. NO VERSION CHANGE.
D) Chapter 44 was published to:
i) change the release recommendation from “Refuse entry” to “Refer to CFIA-NISC” for the following HS codes with the end use “Other end uses - Imported with bark” originating from the states of California, Connecticut, Idaho, Maine, Massachusetts, Montana, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wyoming and destined to British Columbia.
ii) change the release recommendation from “Refuse entry” to “Refer to CFIA-NISC” for the following HS codes with the end use “Other end uses” originating from the states of California, Connecticut, Idaho, Maine, Massachusetts, Montana, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wyoming and destined to British Columbia.
iii) change the release recommendation from “Refuse entry” to “Approved” for the following HS code with the end uses “In Transit through Canada to a third country” and “In transit through Canada to the US” originating from the states of California, Connecticut, Idaho, Maine, Massachusetts, Montana, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wyoming and destined to British Columbia.
