Correction - CN Message: Coiled Metal Products

Further to our notice from yesterday (CN Message: Coiled Metal Products), the following is a correction notice we have received from CN. In short, the changes are taking effect immediately, not 10 December as previously indicated.

As you are likely aware, the shipment of coiled metal products must conform to specific loading requirements and safety measures. Despite our best efforts, some incidents are still occurring.

Subsequent to the procedural changes that were introduced on August 1, 2007, CN now wishes to implement the following two modifications to the coiled metal product policy:

1. Coiled metal products in-gating at CN facilities, must be loaded at a CN-certified loading facility. Please refer to the list below for updates. These are also available on the CN website at: http://www.cn.ca/productsservices/intermodal/resource_centre/en_intermodal_resources.shtml

- Parkdale International Ltd, 1680 Brampton Street, Hamilton, Ontario. (905) 515 0561
- Nova Steel, 6001 rue Irwin, Lasalle, Québec. (514) 335 6682
- Taylor Steel Inc, 477 Arvin Avenue, Stoney Creek, Ontario (905) 662 4925

2. The only recommended weight distribution systems to be used are:

- Load and Roll Pallets (LRP);
- Holland Sleds; and
- Similar CN-approved devices.

The above changes will take effect immediately. Should you have any questions, please contact your Account Manager who will direct any questions or concerns to the appropriate parties.
