Looking for the latest news about upcoming border policies and procedures? Register today for the CSCB Atlantic Region Annual Conference, featuring a business program specifically designed for Atlantic region's "customs experts". This year’s event will take place May 25 at the Casino New-Brunswick Hotel in Moncton.
Here’s a brief overview of what you can expect.
Payment and Reconciliation under ARL: Implementation and Client Communications
CBSA’s Accounts Receivable Ledger Project (ARL) has just reached the end of its design phase. Key policy decisions have been made and industry now has just twelve months to prepare. While there will be no change to accounting timeframes, the switchover to Daily Notices and Monthly Statements of Account will mean significant change for all customs brokers and importers. Presenters will provide both an overview and specific details of the key policy decisions that will impact your management of payment and reconciliation under ARL.
OGD Updates
It is the requirements of OGDs like CFIA and Health Canada that can create the greatest challenges and frustrations for importers. The customs professional must be vigilant about monitoring the legislation, regulations and policies of these departments. Hear the latest about OGD activities concerning imports and ask questions of those responsible for administering these programs.
eManifest: a focus on ATD and key CBSA policy decisions
Will it ever end? It seems like we have been talking about eManifest since the beginning of time. Now that the final phases of the project are upon us, carriers, freight forwarders, importers and customs brokers must collaborate for this to work as intended. Critical design limitations that challenge the attainment of project objectives and your operations will be highlighted and the latest news on timelines and ATD will be shared by Melanie Bedard, CSCB Chair and James Spina from the eManifest project team at CBSA HQ.
CSCB Chair Melanie Bedard and CSCB President Carol West also will be giving presentations that will touch upon many different subject areas of importance to your business strategy and operations. If you want to better understand the critical elements in making borders work, you won’t want to miss this unique educational and networking opportunity.
After the conference, enjoy some of Moncton’s best live entertainment and a delicious full course meal at the McSweeney Dinner Theatre.
Attending a CSCB Regional Conference provides you with an opportunity to obtain 10 CCS points and 10 CTCS credits for 2013.
