Important Notice to All Customers -- Import CY Local Cargo - VANTERM and DELTAPORT
TSI wishes to advise demurrage charges for the period from July 21 to August 20, 1999 on any import CY local cargo including reefer cargo ("Cargo") resulting from delays in pick-up at our terminals due to the recent trucking dispute are waived.
This waiver is subject to the bills of lading having attained "available for delivery" status at our terminals within the normal free time for the Cargo. Such status includes the necessary releases of holds for Steamship Line, Canada Customs and other third party agencies such as Health of Animals and CFIA on the Cargo as well as the nomination of the Truck Carrier during the normal freetime for the vessel from which it was discharged. Cargo which would have been subject to demurrage under normal conditions will be assesssed the demurrage charges as per TSI's Terminal Services Tariff for the period of time until the date all holds were properly removed.
Importers and their agents are further advised that a "Terminal Rehandling Charge" of $60.00 per container regardless of size and type will be assessed to offset additional terminal costs incurred for Cargo which has been required to remain at our terminals during or is delayed as a result of the backlog resulting from the trucker's dispute.
