First Annual Summary Report of the CFIA’s Foreign Verification Office

The Foreign Verification Office (FVO) was created by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) in 2016 to enhance Canada’s overall food inspection and verification mandate, specifically its presence in foreign countries. The FVO conducts food safety verifications in foreign facilities that produce food destined for the Canadian market. These verifications help to ensure the safety of imported foods to Canada.
