Integrated Import Declaration (IID) Ministerial Exemption

February 6, 2019

This message is to inform Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) clients that declare imports using the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Integrated Import Declaration (IID) message of an issue that the Agency is working to resolve. The CFIA has discovered that IID declarations with the Approved Ministerial Exemption with original signature (de-materialized Licence, Permit, Certificate or Other Document) AIRS registration type 96, are not being processed correctly.

The Agency will be correcting this issue on the week of February 18, 2019 during a scheduled maintenance release and will send a message to clients once the issue has been resolved. In the meantime, clients required to declare an Approved Ministerial Exemption with original signature on an IID declaration are asked to fax their declaration to (613) 773-9999.

Please note, this does not affect clients declaring electronically using the EDI Other Government Department Pre-arrival Review System / Release on Minimum Documentation (OGD PARS/RMD) message.
