July 6 - ARL Webinar on Refunds and Off-setting

June 28, 2016

On January 25, 2016, the CBSA introduced ARL, a fully integrated and centralized accounting system that allows for off-setting of account credits against debits, and offers Trade Chain Partners (TCPs) more comprehensive accounting statements and new electronic payment options. In order to provide TCPs with additional time to adapt to the implementation of the ARL, the CBSA temporarily deferred the introduction of off-setting for all account credits and debits, and continued to issue payment cheques. As of August 2, 2016, the process of account off-setting will be in effect for all importers. As of this date, the CBSA will no longer issue refund payments to the importer or care of the agent requesting the refund.

On Wednesday, July 6th, the CSCB will be hosting the CBSA team for a webinar session to discuss the refunds and off-setting. This session is intended for CSCB members and preferred business clients and will be moderated by CSCB's Janice McBride.

The session will be offered first in French at 11:30 ET, and then in English at 1:15 ET.

This session is free of charge, however, we anticipate a large number of participants therefore registration is required. Space is limited, so register now to guarantee your spot!

2.5 CCS points / 2.5 CTCS credits we be awarded to registered participants.

Please note, CBSA will be hosting the same webinar on July 7th. Details to follow.
