New CSCB Course: Introduction to Canadian Customs & Border Procedures

November 20, 2014

We are excited to announce that today we have launched a new online Introduction to Canadian Customs & Border Procedures course that has replaced the Introduction to Customs correspondence course.

Moving from a hard-copy correspondence course to an online format offers great opportunities for enriched learning. In addition, because the course content has been significantly enhanced, we are confident that individuals who successfully complete this course will be prepared to take the CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) course, so we are making it one of the pre-requisites for the CCS course.

Students can now...

  • manage their own learning within a six-month time frame at a computer or mobile device with Internet access;
  • reinforce what they learn, as they learn it with interactive exercises, links to reference materials, self-testing with instant feedback;
  • collaborate with fellow students through a discussion forum; and
  • qualify for enrolment in the CSCB CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) program upon successful completion.

If you or your employees are currently enrolled in or have completed the Introduction to Customs correspondence course, and would like to transfer to the Introduction to Canadian Customs & Border Procedures online course, please visit our website for details.

Please note: if you wish to complete the Introduction to Canadian Customs and Border Procedures course to meet an enrolment requirement for the CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) course, you must successfully pass this course with a mark of 65% or greater before enrolling in the CCS course. The deadline for enrollment in the 2014-15 CCS course is December 31, 2014.
