New method of accessing ECCRD chapters online

April 9, 2018

The Technical Commercial Client Unit (TCCU) of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is happy to announce that we are undertaking a pilot test of a new Government of Canada offering called “GCcollab”. By design, it is intended as an information sharing tool between government representatives at the federal, provincial and municipal levels as well as representatives of business, industry, academics and students.

At this time, the TCCU will leverage GCcollab specifically to provide our clients 24/7 access to technical documents, such as ECCRDs. In the future, additional documentation may also be posted based on the outcome of this initial undertaking. We will continue to keep you apprised of any new developments. Participation in GCcollab is strictly voluntary – please note that if you would prefer to contact the TCCU to request documents, this service will continue to exist.

If you are interested in participating in GCcollab, please send an email to: [email protected] with GCcollab in the subject line and we will send you an invitation from the GCcollab application.

Be notified of updates to specific chapters

To be notified whenever a new version is uploaded to a specific folder, by clicking on the bell icon (which will turn it from grey to solid) you will be automatically subscribed to receive an email from GCcollab when a change in that folder occurs. We recommend clicking on the bell for each ECCRD chapter in which you are interested, at the “English version”/”French version” level.

For the clients who are interested in registering for GCcollab, we hope you find this tool useful and we look forward to your feedback and comments at [email protected]. If you have colleagues who would be interested in this new self-serve option for obtaining ECCRDs but who are not on our distribution list, please ask them to send us an email at the address above and we will send them a GCcollab invitation.

Privacy

Please note that even though we have configured the TCCU group to maintain the anonymity of users within our group, GCcollab member information (name, email address and the user group to which you associated in the registration process [i.e., Business person, student, public servant, etc]) can still be visible to the other 20,000 GCcollab users. This is due to the collaborative nature of the GCcollab tool.

We understand some clients may not be comfortable with this. Once again, we will continue to process requests for ECCRDs at our email address: [email protected]. We will also continue to send out bulletins when there are important business rule or technical changes to specific chapters, or new chapters being released.
