New Regulatory Framework for Federal Food Inspection Webinar

August 19, 2014

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) would like your feedback on "A New Regulatory Framework for Federal Food Inspection: Overview of Proposed Regulations."  This document provides an overview of the proposed regulatory framework, and an early look at the preliminary text for some key elements of the proposed regulations, such as licensing, traceability requirements and preventive control plans. The document builds on feedback collected during earlier rounds of consultation.  Comments received by August 29, 2014 will be considered as the CFIA prepares to pre-publish the proposed regulations in Canada Gazette, Part I.  At that time, stakeholders will be able to comment on the full set of proposed regulations for 75 days.

Due to high demand, the CFIA will hold an additional English-language webinar focussing on information of interest to Small and Medium Enterprises on Friday August 22. Participants will be able to ask questions and receive responses in both English and French.

In addition to providing information about the proposed regulatory framework, this webinar will also feature information regarding the "Safe Food Canada: The Learning Partnership" initiative.  This initiative advocates for collaboration across the food sector in an effort to promote food safety learning, with industry, governments, academia and training providers all working together to identify competencies and establish standards for the design, development and delivery of training.

Please feel free to share this invitation with any colleagues that may be interested in participating in this webinar.

Participating CCS/CTCS designates will be awarded 2.5 points/credits. Please provide proof of attendance to CSCB in a form of the 'thank you for attending’ email upon completion of the webinar.
