Online reporting system for the Products Containing Mercury Regulations is now available

January 17, 2017

Further to the CSCB notice of January 9th, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has advised that the new online reporting system is now available at the ECCC Single Window Information Manager (SWIM). To access SWIM, and subsequently access the online reporting system, please follow this link: https://ec.ss.ec.gc.ca/. If you do not already have an account with SWIM, you will need to create one first.

Furthermore, comprehensive guidance material can be found on the Products Containing Mercury Regulations website http://ec.gc.ca/lcpe-cepa/eng/regulations/detailReg.cfm?intReg=203, under the “Other Useful Links” section. Amongst others, you will find:

  • a detailed user guide to help you navigate the online reporting system; and
  • a spreadsheet with empty tables, which you may use to help you prepare and organize your data for the reporting system. You will be able to copy and paste the information of the spreadsheet into the online system.

For more information on the Regulations, you may consult the compliance guidance document or the Frequently Asked Questions document.

For any inquiries regarding the Products Containing Mercury Regulations, please contact the Products Division of ECCC at 1-888-391-3426 or by email at [email protected] .

As a reminder, manufacturers and importers of products that are exempted or products that are allowed through permits are required to report to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) every three years. A first report is to be submitted by March 31, 2017, on data from the calendar year 2016.
