PC 2006-497, Regulations Amending the NAFTA Rules of Origin Regulations

These Regulations amend the NAFTA Rules of Origin Regulations that are used to determine when goods are eligible for NAFTA tariff preferences.

The amendments, which will enter into force on 1 July 2006, have been developed by the governments of Canada, Mexico and the US in consultation with industry representatives in the three countries. The Regulations liberalize the rules of origin applicable to cocoa preparations, cranberry juice, ores, slag and ash, leather, cork, certain textile products, feathers, glass and glassware, copper and other metals, televisions and controls.
