Regulation – Order amending the Export Control List

On April 10, 2014, the Government of Canada finalized the regulatory process to amend the Export Control List. This amendment serves to add controls, clarify controls and remove controls over specific items as agreed upon in the various multilateral export control regimes and in accordance with Canadian domestic policy.

The current April 2011 version of “A Guide to Canada’s Export Controls” (Guide) remains in effect until May 21st, 2014. On May 22nd, 2014, the December 2012 version of the Guide will formally come into effect. The December 2012 version of the Guide will be available on the Export Controls Division website as of May 22, 2014.

The new version of the Guide will incorporate Canadian commitments and obligations to the various multilateral export control regimes up to December 2012. A table identifying the date of Canadian commitments to each regime appears below.
