Reporting requirements for Products Containing Mercury Regulations

This is a friendly reminder that your report for the Products Containing Mercury Regulations (the Regulations) must be submitted by March 31st, 2017, based on data from the calendar year 2016*.

* If your report is already submitted, or if you have determined that you do not need to report, please disregard this e-mail.

Reports must be submitted through the online reporting system for the Products Containing Mercury Regulations, available on Environment and Climate Change Canada’s Single Window Information Manager (SWIM). To access SWIM, and subsequently access the online reporting system, please follow this link: https://ec.ss.ec.gc.ca/. If you do not already have an account with SWIM, you will need to create one first.

Furthermore, comprehensive guidance material can be found on the Products Containing Mercury Regulations website, under the “Other Useful Links” section. Amongst others, you will find:

  • a detailed user guide to help you navigate the online reporting system;
  • a spreadsheet with empty tables, which you may use to help you prepare and organize your data for the reporting system. You will be able to copy and paste the information of the spreadsheet into the online system;
  • a compliance guidance document on the requirements of the Regulations; and
  • a Frequently Asked Questions document.
