Request for Information regarding Wood Packaging

The CSCB has been contacted by the CFIA regarding a Business Impact Assessment they will undertake with the US Department of Agriculture about implementation of the International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM) No. 15 for wood packaging material, circulating between Canada and the US. The reason for their interest is prevention of forest pests of quarantine concern associated with wood packaging. The assessment is to provide useful information on the impact of the proposed measure on wood packaging producers, exporters and importers.

CFIA is therefore looking for data on production, export and import of wood packaging materials. Members with an interest in this matter are asked to contact the CSCB national office ([email protected]) as soon as possible.
