Tariff Item No. 4008.11.10.00 to be Unchanged

Further to submissions received to the letter from the Department dated October 23, 2001 (notification of which was sent to members on 24 October 2001), the Department of Finance are proposing to leave tariff item No. 4008.11.10.00 unchanged, and create a new item in 4008.11 to read as follows:

---chloroprene (chlorobutadiene) sheets, with a knitted nylon fabric laminated to both sides, weighing more than 1500 g/m2 and containing less than 50% by weight of textile material.

The Department will examine this matter in the context of a forthcoming legislative initiative to amend the Customs Tariff.
