WCO Knowledge Academy

June 14, 2017

You may not be aware that the World Customs Organization (WCO) runs a Knowledge Academy for Customs and Trade during the summer months. The private sector can participate in two areas, namely Tariff & Trade Affairs (HS, Rules of Origin, Valuation) and Trade Facilitation (Trade Facilitation Agreement, WCO Data Model, and AEO/SAFE).

This summer, Carol West, President of the Canadian Society of Customs Brokers, is contributing to the curriculum with two presentations, one involving the private sector’s view of the HS, and the other regarding Centralized Compliance.

Attendance at the Knowledge Academy has been approved for both CCS points and CTCS credits and, although it may be late for you to register this year, you may want to make a note in your calendar to look for news about the Knowledge Academy next year.

And, if you are interested in attending this year or simply looking at the program, you can do that at: https://www.eiseverywhere.com/ehome/kact2017/443113/
