What a Great Day April 27th 2019 was!

April 30, 2019

On April 27th 2019, the CSCB held its very first Designate Day in Montreal, QC with over 35 CCS and CTCS designates registered for the event. Our designate community includes those from CSCB members and preferred business clients as well as importers and exporters.

In addition to a presentation on CBSA’s compliance activities, CSCB Director of Advocacy and Education, Michelle Criger provided a preview of the results of a survey CSCB recently undertook of employees in the customs & trade environment and the importance of connecting with our designate community.

Michael Kaylor gave us fascinating insights into three cases that are currently before the CITT Tribunal. Who knew that motocross helmets, shower stall enclosures and toilet tanks could be so exciting!

The HS, origin and valuation case studies are always the highlight of the day, with enthusiastic participation and friendly debate. Designates also had plenty of opportunity to network, make new friends and reconnect with old ones.

Here is what a few participants said about the day:

“Thank you for such a great day!”

“I had so much fun, I loved the case studies and getting the chance to “geek out” to HS.”

“I hope this becomes an annual event, it was a great day.”

“So glad I decided to come to this event, I learned so much!”

The CSCB Designate Day is heading West! Our next event will be held in Vancouver on Saturday, May 11, followed by Winnipeg on Saturday, June 1, and Calgary on Sunday, June 2.

Designate Day registration is open for all of these locations. Don’t delay, reserve your spot today!

Designates who attended are one step closer to being eligible for the draw for two designates to attend the CSCB National Conference in Whistler BC.

Maximize your chance to come to Whistler – and have some fun doing it. Register for a Designate Day near you!
