CP Bulletin: Canadian Statutory Holiday Service Request Process - Carload Switching – Civic holiday Monday August 4, 2008

This message applies to facilities that receive inbound and outbound carload switching services as per local service operating schedules in Canada.

This MEMO does not apply to AUTOMOTIVE PLANTS AND FACILITIES, nor bulk train shippers and receivers – your statutory service request process is managed on a weekly planning basis by your CP shipment planning team.

In an effort to streamline our service offering to you, our valued carload customer, CP is asking you to complete the following form indicating if service is required on Monday August 4th, 2008 statutory holiday along with holiday contact information. Please return the completed form to CP no later than Thursday July 24, 2008 at 17:00 Central Time.

Based on historical service requirements, our expectation is that the statutory holiday of August 4, 2008 will be observed by your facility unless CP is otherwise notified. If we do not receive the completed form by July 24, 2008 at 17:00 Central Time, CP will plan for closed-gate status at your facility and we will not schedule a switch to spot or lift cars on your behalf on Monday August 4th, 2008.

Requests for service received by CP after 17:00 Central Time Thursday July 24, 2008 may be considered and will be subject to a supplemental charge as outlined in CP Tariff 2 Items 35 to 38. Please send an email to [email protected] to receive a copy of the special switch request form as per CP Tariff 2 Items 35 to 38 for completion.

Any customer(s) requesting statutory holiday service on a non-LSOP service day will CONTINUE to be subject to a supplemental charge as outlined in CP Tariff 2 Items 35 to 38.

If you subsequently cancel a previously arranged switch request it must be received in writing via email to [email protected] upon a minimum twenty-four {24} hours notice prior to the scheduled service. Failure to comply with this notice and procedure will result in a cancellation fee as outlined in CP Tariff 2 Items 35 to 38.

Please return the below request form via email to our Customer Service Operations Center at: [email protected]. Thank you for helping CP proactively plan for your service needs on Monday August 4, 2008.
