General Service Fluorescent Lighting

June 25, 2010

Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) has proposed amendments to the Energy Efficiency Regulations for General Service Fluorescent Lighting. These amendments affect goods that are imported or manufactured in Canada and shipped interprovincially, and are intended to ensure compliance with minimum energy performance standards.

NRCan does not propose any changes to the importing requirements currently in place and dealers/importers must continue to provide the following information on import documents or via electronic transmissions:

  • name of product (e.g. General service fluorescent lamp);
  • model number;
  • brand name (if any);
  • address of the importer; and
  • purpose of the importation (i.e. for sale or lease in Canada; for modification; for export).

More information is available on NRCan's bulletin, available here: http://cscb.ca/listinfo/Bulletin-GSFL_May-2010.pdf
