B.C. pushes minimum wage to $8.75

May 3, 2011

The following is excerpted from the 2 May 2011 edition of "The Canadian Business Journal".

Workers in British Columbia will see minimum wages increase today, up 75 cents to its new $8.75 per hour pay out.

The new minimum wage pay is structured to increase another 75 cents, to $9.50, on November 1 of this year, and to $10.25 one year from today. The structure follows one similar to that of Ontario, which also raised its minimum wage pay level by 75 cent increments in recent years.
