Update re Customs Notice N-281

Carriers now have to produce bar codes using their carrier code for PARS. Information on how to obtain a carrier code and specifications for printing the PARS bar codes can be obtained from:

Effective 1 September 1999 drivers arriving at the border with 2ITNPARS bar codes may be referred to the Customs office for further processing. In order to avoid possible delays, carriers should be using their own PARS bar codes by this date.
