Collection of British Columbia Provincial Sales Tax on Non-Commercial Importations

The federal government and the province of British Columbia have entered into an agreement whereby Revenue Canada will collect the BC provincial sales tax (PST) on behalf of the province, on non-commercial goods brought into the province by returning BC residents.

Revenue Canada started collecting the PST at all BC ports of entry, including airports and marine border crossings on 1 September for travellers, and on 1 October for postal, courier and other modes.
