Certain Iodinated Contrast Media used for Radiographic Imaging ... Originating in or Exported from the USA, including the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico (RE-99-001)

On 16 September 1999, counsel of Nycomed Canada and Nycomed Amersham Canada Limited referred to the CITT, under paragraph 34(1)(b) of the SIMA, the question of whether the evidence before the Deputy Minister of National Revenue disclosed a reasonable indication that the dumping of the above-mentioned goods had caused or was threatening to cause material injury to the domestic industry.

The Tribunal reviewed the relevant information provided by the Deputy Minister without holding a hearing in the matter, as required by section 37 of the SIMA.

The Tribunal rendered advice on 18 October 1999, pursuant to section 37 of the SIMA.

ADVICE

The CITT hereby concludes that the evidence before the Deputy Minister of National Revenue discloses a reasonable indication that the dumping of certain iodinated contrast media used for radiographic imaging, in solutions of osmolality less than 900 mOsm/kg H2,O, originating in or exported from the United States of America, including the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, has caused material injury to the domestic industry.
