US Customs Hot Line for Y2K Problems
The US Customs Service has set up telephone hot lines to help those who file electronically to deal with "Year 2000-bug" problems or questions, the agency announced on its Web site.
Members of the trade community who experience a systems problem they believe to be Year 2000-related should call the Customs help desk at (800) 927-8729, or (703) 921-6000.
For general questions on the status of US Customs' operating systems or general Year 2000-related questions, traders should instead call (703) 921-6501, according to the announcement.
