Once again, customs brokers are faced with a variety of significant policy and procedural changes that will have an effect on how you conduct business on a day to day basis. CSCB President Carol West will be visiting members in Vancouver, Calgary and Winnipeg during the week of May 28th to address a wide range of topics including Carrier Re-engineering, AMPS and compliance, Customs Self- Assessment, the new DFAIT Export and Import Control System and a new internet-based broker/importer/carrier reference tool.
Each CSCB member firm is entitled to register two representatives without charge for each session. However, to defray expenses associated with the meetings, any firm wishing to send more than two representatives will be charged a fee for each additional person that they send. In Vancouver, the cost for each additional person will be $10 (plus GST); in Calgary $15 (plus GST) and in Winnipeg $20 (plus GST). The variation in fees is due the breaks and/or meals provided as part of each session.
