Barcoding HS

Members may have noted in the minutes of regional meetings that the HS, which will become mandatory in May of 2002, must be provided in a bar-coded format.

The CSCB has confirmed with the Commercial Re-engineering Division of the CCRA that it will not be a requirement for the HS to be provided in a bar-coded format on manual RMD's. However, if a customs broker wishes to provide the HS in a bar-coded format, they may certainly do so.
