Cancellation of Penalty Assessments

Members may have been advised by local Customs that they do not have the authority at this time to cancel or correct penalty assessments. Until this authority is granted, all requests for cancellation are being directed to the Adjudications Branch in Ottawa. We have been assured by the CCRA AMPS Working Group that these appeals are being fast-tracked and will be resolved within the 30-day time frame. And, as a result of our intervention, the CCRA AMPS Working Group is issuing an AMPS bulletin to the field to ensure that all officers understand this practice.

The CSCB has created a form for members to use when requesting the cancellation or correction of a penalty assessment. This form is available on the CSCB web site at the following address:

This form will soon be available in French.

Members with question or comments may direct them to the CSCB at [email protected]
