CSCB Information System for Members

Further to our request for members’ comments on our e-mail update service on 13 January, we were very gratified with the immediate response from both corporate and associate members. We received more than 90 replies, and would like to thank those of you who took time to answer our questions.

The majority of corporate members found that the current schedule and format of message delivery suits their requirements. Fifty-one members answered in this way; 33 corporate members replied that a single message was their preference. The members who requested multiple messages throughout the day wanted to maintain the existing “rapid-response” flexibility that this format provides. The difficulty several members cited with sending a single message at the end or beginning of each day is that “important” messages should be sent in a timely fashion, regardless of the desire for a single-message format, and it is very difficult to determine what is “important” for all members!

Most members liked the straightforward format of our message, and wanted to take the information provided to them for use with clients via their own information systems.

While we are pleased that most of you like what you are getting now, and the way it is being delivered, we want to ensure that we continue to meet your needs. With this in mind, we are looking at introducing new ideas and methods that will keep us up-to-date. For instance, we may “cluster” some messages around certain themes or topics; as well, we are thinking about re-introducing the occasional hard-copy bulletin, again perhaps centred around a theme or event. We know you and your businesses aren’t standing still, and neither are we!

Overall, we will retain our current format for delivery of our information services. We thank you for your input, and look forward to being of service.
