CN Brampton Terminal Update -- Fee Increase

The statistics for the week of November 3 to November 9 are available, and can be viewed at http://www.cscb.ca/listinfo/bitperformancenov3-903.xls. Once again, CN has noted that the weekend pickups have been light. However, imports on hand have dropped to a level that is having a noticeable effect on the carter turn times which were down to 37 minutes by the end of the week.

The following message has also been provided by CN:

Dear International Customer,

Further to our previous communications on storage charges at our intermodal terminals there has been no noticeable change in the level of weekend activity at our facilities. Our commitment to continuously improve the level of our service offering is dependant on the distribution of our traffic over a seven day period. CN in conjunction with the ports, operate and service our international cargo 7/24. With sustained high growth levels in this industry predicted again for next year, we will continue to encourage all those in the import supply chain to reduce the dwell time on containers at our terminals.

Effective November 17th, CN's charges for loaded import storage will be $100 per day for all equipment types. The free time on import containers will be 2 days. These charges will be applicable at all Canadian and U.S. facilities and will be reflected in CN's tariff 7589.

Sincerely,
Andy Gonta
