Holiday Scheduling

The following message is from the Electronic Commerce Unit at the CCRA.

December 24, 2003, will be a normal business day from the point of view of system processing and the running of end-of-day reports. The Electronic Commerce Unit will be closed on the statutory holidays of December 25 and 26, 2003. December 25 and 26 will not be counted in the calculation of overdue entries. B3 entries processed and accepted on Dec 25 and Dec 26 will appear on the daily K84 notice generated at the end of the business day on December 29. The December monthly K84 will be generated on the evening of December 29 with a statement date of December 30 and a due date of December 31. The exchange rates from December 25 through December 29 will remain unchanged. December 31 will be a normal business day from the point of view of system processing and the running of end-of-day reports. The Electronic Commerce Unit will be closed on the statutory holiday of January 1, 2004. This day will not be counted in the calculation of overdue entries. B3 entries processed and accepted on January 1 will appear on the daily K84 notice generated at the end of day Friday January 2. The exchange rates from January 1 to January 2 will remain unchanged.

Clients are reminded that they should have the capability to query the system to verify the status of transactions. We appreciate that it may be easier to contact the Electronic Commerce Unit or the Customs office for a quick status on an ACROSS release transaction, but the reality is that this takes resources and hinders our ability to handle serious problems. If your team is unfamiliar with the query process, please check with your tech support or software supplier for more information.
