PC 2004-494

PC 2004-494 is the Order Amending the Schedule to the Customs Tariff, 2004-1.

Amendments

1. Tariff item Nos. 5209.52.00 and 5209.59.00 in the List of Tariff Provisions set out in the schedule to the Customs Tariff are repealed.

2. The List of Tariff Provisions set out in the schedule to the Act is amended as set out in Part 1 of the schedule to this Order.

3. The List of Tariff Provisions set out in the schedule to the Act is amended by adding, in numerical order, the tariff provisions set out in Part 2 of the schedule to this Order.

4. Tariff item Nos. 5209.52.00 and 5209.59.00 in the List of Intermediate and Final Rates for Tariff Items of the “F” Staging Category set out in the schedule to the Act are repealed.

5. The List of Intermediate and Final Rates for Tariff Items of the “F” Staging Category set out in the schedule to the Act is amended by adding, in numerical order, the tariff items set out in Part 3 of the schedule to this Order.

Coming into Force

6. This Order comes into force on the day on which it is registered.

PC 2004-493

PC 22004-493 is the “SeaRose FPSO” Remission Order, 2004.

Remission

1. Subject to section 2, remission is hereby granted to Husky Oil Operations Limited, Calgary, Alberta, and Petro Canada, Calgary, Alberta in the amount representing the customs duties paid or payable under the Customs Tariff in respect of the hull and turret portion of the “SeaRose FPSO” imported into Canada for the White Rose offshore oil project.

Conditions

2. The remission is granted on the conditions that:

(a) the importers files such evidence as may be required by the CBSA to determine eligibility for remission; and
(b) a claim for remission is made to the Minister of national Revenue prior to 1 April 2007.

Coming into Force

3. This Order comes into force on the day on which it is registered.

PC 2004-492

PC 2004-492 is the Order Amending the Certain Chloroprene Sheets Remission Order.

Amendment

1. Section 2 (a) of the Certain Chloroprene Sheets Remission Order is replaced by the following:

(a) the chloroprene sheets were imported into Canada during the period commencing on 1 January 1998 and ending on 31 December 2005;

Coming into Force

2. This Order comes into force on the day on which it is registered.

PC 2004-491

PC 2004-491 is the Order Amending the Designer Remission Order, 2001.

The definition “limited quantities” in section 1 of the Designer Remission Order, 2001 is repealed.

Sections 2 and 3 of the Order are replaced, and Subparagraph 4(a)(ii) of the Order is repealed.

PC 2004-490

PC 2004-490 is the General Preferential Tariff Withdrawal Order (Certain Countries acceding to the European Union).

Withdrawal of Benefits

1. The benefit of the General Preferential Tariff is hereby withdrawn in respect of all goods that originate in Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Republic of Estonia, Hungary, Republic of Latvia, Republic of Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovak Republic and the Republic of Slovenia.

Exception

2. Section 1 does not apply to goods that were in transit to Canada before 1 May 2004.

Amendments to the Customs Tariff Schedule

3. The List of Countries and Applicable Tariff Treatments in the schedule to the Customs Tariff is amended by replacing the references to “Cyprus+”, “Czech Republic+”, “Estonia, Republic of+”, “Malta+”, “Poland+”, “Slovak Republic+” and “Slovenia, the Republic of+” are replaced by references to “Cyprus”, “Czech Republic”, “Estonia, Republic of”, “Malta”, “Poland”, “Slovak Republic” and “Slovenia, the Republic of”, respectively.

Coming into Force

4. This Order comes into force on 1 May 2004.
