The following message is from Doug Oakman, Manager of Entry, Accounting and Adjustment Policy at CBSA.

 

Members should note that the request for an extension to the automatic waiver period, originally set at 2-15 January, came from the CSCB.

 

We have decided to extend the automatic waiver for the period of January 16-19, 2007. Our monitoring efforts have revealed that, while only slightly higher than normal, there do appear to be some penalties as a result of our system issues.

 

We will continue monitoring the situation throughout next week and I will provide you with a status [report on] January 26.
