The following article is extracted from the 23 February 2007 edition of “The Journal of Commerce”.

Customs and Border Protection announced that truckers must use the Automated Commercial Environment Truck Manifest System at all land borders in Michigan and New York, effective May 24.

The two states will join crossings in states on the Southwest border, Washington and selected ports in North Dakota where truck manifests will have to be transmitted to Customs for security screening 30 minutes before the truck’s arrival at the border.

Customs said the remaining locations where ACE Truck Manifest is not yet mandatory are crossings in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Minnesota, western North Dakota, Montana and Alaska….
