Probe set into allegations against border guards

The following was reported on in 3 October 2007 edition of “globeandmail.com”.

Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day says he has ordered an investigation into allegations that border guards posted offensive material on the Internet.

"I immediately directed my officials to look into these allegations and take appropriate disciplinary action where warranted," Mr. Day said in a news release yesterday.

Mr. Day was responding to accusations by Chris Hughes, a former officer from Victoria, that Canada Border Services Agency members posted inappropriate and offensive material, including jokes about guns and passports.
