In August 2023, we made structural changes to the mandatory module requirement for Certified Trade Compliance Specialist (CTCS) Program. Here is more information about these changes.

The Freight and Documentation and Export Controls and Documentation modules were replaced by a Transportation & Export Controls module. We have also introduced a new mandatory module on the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA).

Here is a comparison of the old CTCS program stream to the new CTCS program stream:

NOTE: If you have completed both the Freight and Documentation and the Export Controls and Documentation modules, you do not need to complete the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA) module to graduate, but you may wish to take it as an elective.

What Does it All Mean for You?

Depending on whether you have enrolled, started or completed the Freight and Documentation and/or the Export Controls and Documentation modules, you may have been enrolled in the Transport & Export Documentation and/or Special Import Measures Act (SIMA) modules.
