After several years of pause due to the CARM initiative, the CBSA - working in collaboration with Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Environment and Climate Change Canada, Global Affairs Canada, Health Canada, Natural Resources Canada, the Public Health Agency of Canada, and Transport Canada - has announced a series of Single Window Initiative (SWI) updates scheduled for implementation in late 2026.
These enhancements will introduce new functionalities, revised matching rules, acceptance of digital images, and several other important improvements.
