Amendment to import conditions for romaine lettuce harvested in California and salads from the USA

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s (CFIA) is amending the import controls in relation to the outbreak of E. coli O157 illnesses in Canada linked to romaine lettuce harvested in California (USA).

As of Friday December 14, 2018, the counties in California from which romaine lettuce cannot originate due to the outbreak of E. coli O157 infections are: Monterrey, San Benito, and Santa Barbara.
