Amendments to the Presentation of Persons (2003) Regulations – Letter of Notification

The following is an email from CBSA.

The purpose of this email is to notify you of the upcoming suggested amendments that will be made to the Presentation of Persons (2003) Regulations under the Customs Act governing the Trusted Traveller Program.  These amendments are being proposed in an effort to support the Beyond the Border: A shared Vision for Perimeter Security and Economic Competitiveness Action Plan, issued by the Prime Minister of Canada and the President of the United States, as well as to provide legal framework clarification of the Trusted Traveller Programs.

Attached you will find a “Letter of Notification” providing detailed information of the changes, as well as the reasoning behind them.

As valued stakeholders, we would appreciate your feedback and thoughts regarding these amendments.  Please direct your questions and/or comments to [email protected] by no later than December 15, 2012.
