Annual Adjustment of CFIA Service Fees / Rajustement annuel des frais de service de l'ACIA

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) adjusts its fees based annually on the Consumer Price Index in accordance with the Service Fees Act. This requirement ensures that CFIA service fees keep pace with inflation.

The next annual adjustment will result in a decrease of the Agency's service fees by 0.2% as of March 31, 2022.

The decrease in fees reflects the decline in prices during the period from April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021, which covers the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rajustement annuel des frais de service de l'ACIA

L'Agence canadienne d'inspection des aliments (ACIA) rajuste ses frais de service tous les ans en fonction de l'indice des prix à la consommation, conformément à la Loi sur les frais de service. Cette exigence permet de s'assurer que les frais de service de l'ACIA suivent le rythme de l'inflation.

Le prochain rajustement annuel donnera lieu à une baisse des frais de service de l'Agence de 0,2 % à compter du 31 mars 2022.

La baisse des frais tient compte de la chute des prix pendant la période allant du 1er avril 2020 au 31 mars 2021, qui couvre le début de la pandémie de COVID-19.
