1. The Canadian International Trade Tribunal, further to CBSA’s final determinations dated October 31, 2012, that certain carbon and alloy steel pipe piles, originating in or exported from the People’s Republic of China had been dumped and subsidized, and pursuant to subsection 43(1) of the Special Import Measures Act, found that the dumping and subsidizing of the aforementioned goods (Inquiry No. NQ-2012-002) had not caused injury but were threatening to cause injury to the domestic industry.

2. Under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999, Department of the Environment, Significant New Activity Notice No. 16946 in respect of the substance 2-Propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, alkyl ester, polymer with butyl 2-propenoate, ethenylbenzene, 2-hydroxyethyl 2-propenoate, 2-oxiranylmethyl 2-methyl-2-propenoate and rel-(1R,2R,4R)-1,7,7-trimethylbicylco[2.2.1]hept-2-yl 2-propenoate, bis(1,1-dimethylpropyl)peroxide and 1,1-dimethylpropyl 2-ethlyhexaneperoxoate-initiated, under section 83 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999.

3. Royal Assent to Bill S-11, chapter 24, 2012. An Act respecting food commodities, including their inspection, their safety, their labelling and advertising, their import, export and interprovincial trade, the establishment of standards for them, the registration or licensing of persons who perform certain activities related to them, the establishment of standards governing establishments where those activities are performed and the registration of establishments where those activities are performed.
