Canada, U.S. reach deal to lift steel and aluminum tariffs: sources

Canada and the U.S. have reached a deal to remove steel and aluminum tariffs, CBC News has learned.

A source with knowledge of the high-level negotiations said the deal does not impose quotas on Canadian steel exports, nor does it limit Canadian imports to a specific share of the U.S. market.

Another source said the momentum of the negotiations intensified this week. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke to U.S. President Donald Trump late Friday morning. The Prime Minister's Office said the pair discussed the steel tariff issue...
