The CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management (CARM) initiative will modernize CBSA commercial accounting processes and introduce a new Commercial Accounting Declaration (CAD) to replace current B3-3 (Canada Customs coding) and B2 (Request for adjustment) processes, as well as introduce new and revised financial statements in spring 2022, requiring system changes from the trade chain community.
New versions of Chapter 24 (Accounts Receivable Ledger (ARL) - Financial Statements) and Chapter 26 (Commercial Accounting Declaration (CAD)) of the Electronic Commerce Client Requirements Document (ECCRD) are now available. The purpose of these chapters is to provide the technical specifications for electronic data interchange (EDI) changes under CARM. The accompanying CARM Playbook to complement the Chapter 26 from a business process perspective is also available.
