CBSA Message: Change to UN dangerous goods code

The following is a CBSA message (EDI12-067).

With reference to our Message EDI12-033 sent April 10, 2012 - effective August 25, 2012, the requirement to submit the UN prefix for the dangerous goods code transmitted in the cargo maps for ACI Air, ACI Marine, ACI eManifest Highway and CSA (Customs Self Assessment) Highway, will be removed, the dangerous goods code will be numeric 4 (n4) only.  The ACI Air, Marine, and CSA Electronic Commerce Client Requirements Documents (ECCRD) have been updated accordingly and posted to our website http://www.cbsa.gc.ca/eservices/eccrd-eng.html

A message will be sent out later this week with the times of the outage while we implement the formatting changes for UNDGS.

If you have any questions concerning this change in policy, please contact Commercial Unit, Advance Information and Programs Division at [email protected].

For any question concerning EDI formatting for ACI Air, ACI Marine and CSA Highway, please contact the Electronic Commerce Unit at 1-888-957-7224, option 1.
